We are excited to be offering a class in queen rearing, which will take place on the same day, February 18th, and at the same place - Circle of Hope at 1125 S. Broad St. - as our Beginners Short Course. The queen rearing class will be from 1:00-4:00. Below is a short description of the class.

Thinking about raising your own queens?  Learn what is involved from Master Beekeeper, Vince Aloyo and expert beekeeper, Jeff Eckel. This workshop is designed for individuals who have kept bees for several years and are thinking about raising their own queens.  Although queen rearing is not difficult, it does involve a high level of beekeeping knowledge and significant attention to detail. Vince and Jeff will present both theoretical and practical aspects of queen rearing. This brief introductory workshop is a prelude to a full 2 day, hands-on queen rearing course to be taught by Vince and Jeff in May 2012. Information about that class will be posted at a later date.
